About Charity: Cleveland Indians Charities
The first ever CIC Giveathon, presented by Kaulig Giving, which will raise money for Cleveland Indians Charities youth baseball initiatives.
It will take place during the Cleveland Indians home game against the Houston Astros on August 2 and will feature multiple opportunities for fans to contribute.
The Giveathon will feature two different opportunities for fans to donate online at www.Indians.com/Giveathon:
• $100-or-more donation for a signed ball by either Terry Francona, Sandy Alomar Jr., Mike Clevinger, Shane Bieber or Carlos Carrasco
• Online auction featuring once-in-a-lifetime Tribe items and experiences
Established in 1989, CIC is a self-sustaining charitable organization that concentrates on creative partnerships with select organizations in the community. Through fundraising, CIC provides the opportunity to jointly create and execute youth educational and recreational opportunities. These programs help young people learn to play the game of baseball, develop necessary life skills, learn responsibility, and develop confidence to face today's hurdles.
Through the years, CIC has raised money at a variety of fundraising events and is aided by the generosity of donors including Cleveland Indians players, coaches, fans, Front Office personnel and corporate partners. Since 1989, CIC has donated more than $10 million to youth-oriented agencies and organizations of Northeast Ohio.
CIC has established relationships with several local organizations that focus on youth education and youth recreation. The following organizations benefit from a continued partnership with CIC:
• Cleveland Metropolitan School District High School Baseball and Softball Programs
• Cleveland Baseball Federation, Larry Doby Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities Program (RBI)
• Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland
"Kaulig Charitable Giving Programs are proud to partner with Cleveland Indians Charities for their 2019 Giveathon. We support more than 60 non-profit organizations in our community and beyond. It’s important for us to support the well-being of children and families and develop partnerships with like-minded non-profits,” said Matt Kaulig, Chairman. “Like Cleveland Indians Charities, we play a hands-on role in family and children philanthropy. By investing in the well-being and health of children, we are investing in our future and that is creating the largest and most lasting impact of all.
